Mrs. Girlie Zunega-Aguilar

Principal

Grades 5 to 8

 

Girlie Zunega-Aguilar is an international speaker, teacher, a missionary, and a servant of God. She spent more than fourteen years teaching elementary, middle school and high school students in urban, rural, and international settings. She has experience working in Adventist, as well as public and non-profit educational systems.

Additionally, she worked as an Academic Advisor, Student Teaching Supervisor, Graduate Teaching Assistant and Administrative Assistant at Andrews University. She is passionate about developing teachers and resources that are prepared to meet the needs of all students. She also engages in equipping future leaders, enjoys leading out Master Guide, Pathfinders, organizing international mission trips, and conducting seminars. She served as a missionary and English teacher in South Korea for three years and seven and a half years in Saipan, Northern Marianas Island (USA). She’s married to Antonee Leo Aguilar who is a pastor, a nurse, a teacher, and an accountant. Pastor and Mrs. Aguilar pursued their education at Andrews University where Pastor Aguilar is taking Master of Divinity and Master of Business Administration while Mrs. Aguilar is a PhD Candidate in Religious Education with emphasis in Campus Spiritual Leadership. Her hobbies include reading, preaching, cycling, and spending time with her husband on road trips.

 

Ms. Hope Ramson

Grades 2 to 4

Ms. Hope Ramson is an enthusiastic and committed teacher with a natural ability to appreciate and inspire children.  She graduated from Grand Canyon University in 2016, with a Master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction, emphasis in Reading, and a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education with emphasis in Special Education. Ms. Ramson has been teaching for more than seven years. She has worked with students from various cultural background and at all elementary grade levels.  She is a warm and caring person who wants all children to be successful learners and works to create a classroom atmosphere that is stimulating, encouraging, and adaptive to the varied needs of students.  Wholistic growth and development is what she would like to see in all students.  One of her favorite Bible text is “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way thou should go, I will guide with my eyes.” Psalm 32:8

 

Ms. Katia Nikolaus 

Kinder to 1st Grade

Miss Nikolaus earned her Bachelor’s degree in Education from Instituto Superior Adventista Del Plata, Argentina. She taught elementary level for a year. She recently graduated with her Master’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Music at Andrews University, Michigan. She believes that Education is a superpower and that we can change the world with it. She believes teaching is a small way to save the world, and if not the world as a whole, at least one person's world. She believes that education is to redeem. Her mission is wherever she is, she can show love and mercy in helping people. She believes that teachers are superheroes. Miss Nikolaus also loves music and nature. She loves mountains and being surrounded by her pets. She dreams of flying on a hot-air balloon, speaks Italian, goes to an elephant sanctuary, and visit New Zealand. She recently had the opportunity to visit other countries. She's excited to meet her students this coming school year!


Mrs. Kim Eder

Preschool


Kim Harbison-Eder is a certified Early Childhood Educator. Mrs. Eder has taught PreK at Scappoose Adventist School since 2011, when she established the program to address the early educational needs of families within our community. She graduated from Southern Adventist University with a B.A. in Psychology and a minor in Behavioral Science and Business Management. Mrs. Eder is currently enrolled in Portland State University’s Masters of Education program, specializing in curriculum and instruction.  Teaching, learning, gardening, creative design, art, and music are her passions. Mrs. Eder is inspired by the educational theories of Maria Montessori and the Reggio Emilia approach. One of her favorite Bible texts is; “Let all that you do be done in love”  1 Corinthians 16:14.

Toni Renner

Aftercare

 

Toni Renner is married to Donald Renner, they have two older boys and daughter all adults now. There newest addition to the family is a baby girl growing up into a toddler. Toni grew up in the SE Portland area and has a dog named Bella. She has found her calling for working with children back in high school, she has always loved kids and started babysitting at the age of 12 and volunteered at her church growing up. She now has over 15 years of experience working with children. Her favorite Bible verse is Hebrews 13:5 “Keep your lives free from the love of money, and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.””

Don Renner

Treasurer

 

Don Renner has received a Bachelor of Science in Business – Accounting (BSB/ACC) from University of Phoenix. He also owns his own small business in construction were he and a partner assemble storage sheds that he has been doing for over three years. He has also worked in the retail parts industry for many years where he discovered his love for bookkeeping / accounting. He Is married to Toni and they have daughter a daughter together, Don also has three children from his first marriage two sons and one daughter all adults now. He met Toni several years ago and with her encouragement found his way back to the Lord and came back the Adventist Church where he found his calling to be the treasurer for the school. One of his favorite bible verses is Philippians 4:13 "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

 

Antonee Leo Aguilar

Church Pastor/Chaplain 

 

Antonee Leo Aguilar, is an Accountant, Nurse and a Minister by Profession, he finished his Bachelor of Science Major in Accounting (1997) and Bachelor of Science in Nursing (2006). He has worked in various capacities as a Hospital Accountant, Hospital Nurse, Teacher, Conference Auditor, School and Church Treasurer for more than 18 years and the Senior Pastor for Scappoose-St. Helens & Vernonia, Oregon Church. Antonee is happily married to an amazing woman, Girlie Zunega-Aguilar, who is the SAS Principal. His favorite verse reminded him that Christ loves everyone. “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 5:8

Antonee loves outdoor activities and is an avid road and mountain bike rider. He loves photography, robotics and videography.
